Business Leaders Condemn Political Violence Following Trump Rally Incident
Donald Trump is reported to be “safe” after sustaining an injury during a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Business leaders expressed their support and condemned political violence following an assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. A member of the audience was killed, and Trump was injured, with his ear pierced before being swiftly removed by the Secret Service.
Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote, “I pray for President Trump’s rapid recovery. I strongly condemn this violence.” Amazon CEO Andy Jassy described the event as “just awful,” while former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos praised Trump for showing “tremendous grace and courage under literal fire tonight.”

Business leaders who have previously clashed with Trump also offered their support. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated, “Praying for a quick recovery for President Trump. Political violence undermines democracy and must always be condemned.” Similar sentiments were echoed by leaders from Microsoft, Airbnb, Alphabet, and Intel.
Trump was taken to a hospital, assessed, and released. He thanked first responders online, with a campaign spokesperson confirming he was “fine.” He returned to New Jersey and announced his intention to speak at the Republican National Convention later in the week.
The Secret Service reported that the suspected shooter, who attacked from an elevated position outside the rally venue, was killed. Two other rally attendees were critically injured.
President Joe Biden, along with other political leaders and world leaders, expressed their support. In televised remarks, Biden stated, “There is no place in America for this kind of violence. It’s sick.” He later spoke to Trump over the phone.
